About this role: Senior Environmental Senior Specialist/ Manager

  • Company’s conservation compliance program;
  • Day-to-day support for Director – Marine, Senior Manager – Marine Protected Area Networks, Manager – Marine Operations and Conservation Compliance Senior Specialist;
  • Assess marine training needs, develop training courses and capacity building for rangers in marine and terrestrial protected areas;
  • Contribute to the development of best practice operational standards of conservation compliance, fisheries compliance and protected area patrols;
  • Contribute to the delivery of commitments within the Red Sea Sustainable Ecosystem Fisheries Management Action Plan (Tabuk pilot sites)
  • Provide operational support for monitoring and evaluation, biodiversity data collection and marine logistics;
  • Contribute to the development of operational strategies and plans for compliance to contribute to the overarching Company Conservation Compliance and Monitoring and Evaluation Program;
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance and implementation of procedures and practices for effective and sustainable operation of Company’s Marine and Terrestrial Compliance program;
  • Create opportunities for education and stewardship among Company staff;
  • Maintain good relations with resource users (including commercial tourism operators) as part of a strategic compliance and enforcement program;
  • Utilise and care for marine vessels, land vehicles, and ATVs effectively to ensure timely operational support.
  • Be accountable for the effective utilization of operational budget
  • Engage with the development of strategic initiatives to improve effectiveness and efficiency of the marine protected area program, with a constant focus on driving value to company and anticipating and mitigating business, environmental and reputational risks
  • Contribute to a process of review and continuous improvement of company’s Marine protected area compliance program to ensure a world-class compliance system to support company’s conservation and management objectives and to help ensure a high level of environmental performance for all development activities;
  • Contribute to and sustain a culture of service and support within the Compliance team toward relevant internal stakeholders, while also delivering strong leadership on areas of core responsibility such as day-to-day management of the estate;
  • Ensure a program of performance monitoring and constant improvement that includes strong awareness of emerging trends and technology that can improve program efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the design, implementation and improvement of company’s Marine Conservation and Management Program.



  • 5-10 years of experience in compliance management, protected area operations management and design and implementation with at least 3 years of experience in a managerial position.
  • Applied management experience in compliance and fisheries management.
  • A degree in environmental science, natural resource management or other relevant area is preferred.
