About this role

• All personnel with Painting Department inclusive of QC, Production and Clerical personnel; • Liaise with all discipline Superintendents, PMT personnel, client representatives, PQMs, Inspectors and Engineering Group;
• Provide a service to projects and shops to enable those defined to meet or exceed their targets;• Work in conjunction with the projects and assist the construction effort in applying the most cost-effective plan to completion and lead the execution of that plan in accordance with the Corporate and Area guidelines and operating standards;
• Responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day painting management; • Responsible for co-coordinating most productive use of material and equipment across a multi project environment in the yard;
• Maintain a close relationship will all current projects engineers to allow maximum utilization of equipment; • Forecast any future needs of specific pieces of equipment not normally available within the company. This will be achieved whilst maintaining the standards of safety and quality defined in the company procedures;
• It is imperative that the fabrication management of the company provide direction for the management of the project within the constraints of the multi-project environment; • It is fundamental for the construction activities to be managed in the best interest of the shareholders of JRM;
• Ensure compliance with Quality and Safety requirements;• Ensure compliance with HSE policy and attach line supervision responsibilities;
• Meet schedule and productivity targets as per project;• Seek guidance from the Fabrication Superintendent and Fabrication Management as appropriate before making critical and important decisions;
• Provide direction and make decisions in pursuit of the project and area goals and objectives;• Provide leadership to the department Supervisors;
• Set standards of behavior;• Solicit ideas from the team members in order to overcome any difficulties that may be encountered during the implementation of the of the project;
• Provide best technical solutions to construction team;• Foster an environment for building team morale and build consensus within the team;
• Hold the members of Painting team accountable for work performed per their roles and responsibilities; • Clearly delegate actions and responsibilities and define deliverable requirements in terms of both scope and schedule to team members;
• Facilitate timely problem resolution with the painting team members;• Facilitate the interface between the Painting Dept, construction team, the safety and quality departments;
• Plan the project to a level of detail to enable sound decision making and clear definition of weekly requirements to those executing the work; • Forecast tools and equipment needs for the scope of work being undertaken;
• Identify specific training needs in advance of the requirement; • Be involved in the review of the plan in consultation with the Project Fabrication Superintendent and other team members and agree and confirm the 4WLA activities and manning requirements;
• Demonstrate good planning and organization in your day to day activities;• Obtain commitment from all the Projects on the timely delivery of data to ensure the labour force allocated to the work is productively used;
• Monitor productivity and schedule performance and investigate reasons for less than satisfactory performance; • Institute measures for improvement by modification to operating procedures / work instructions;
• Review the project progress and productivity with the Fabrication Superintendent;• When attending meetings, arrive fully prepared and informed to provide answers to questions raised during the meeting;
• Be prepared to fully participate in the meeting; • Forecast annual budget, estimate manning levels, estimate MHs and recruit or terminate personnel as required;
• Estimate paint consumable usage, maintain requisitioning and monitor usage of consumables;• Forecast training costs, conduct education for all department personnel to improve paint performance, quality and safety;
• Investigate new application processes that minimize labour and cost of materials;• Maintain the performance of equipment and estimate cost to refurbish, repair or purchase new equipment.



• Must be knowledgeable of Codes, Specifications and industry Practices. Determine technical solution based on test date and present solution logically and factually.; • Ability to work as a team member as well as team leader;
• Have wide experience with technical activities, including on and offshore operations;• Time management and organizational skills with strong attention to detail/follow up;
• Communication and presentation skills both written and spoken;• Computer Literate on MS programs: Word, Access, Powerpoint, Excel, Project;
• Self-motivated, self-reliant, and able to operate independently while exercising good independent judgement and decision making;• Ability to lift 50 pounds;
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time and safely maneuver around nearby presence of various equipment;• Minimum 15yrs experience.
